Alexandra Maria Lara was born in Romania. She is a Romanian/German actress. Her best-known films include Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Alexandra Maria Lara was the only son of Romanian film actor Valentin Platareanu. At the age of 16, Alexandra played the leading character in various TV dramas. Her critically acclaimed performance in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for other notable roles including that of Secretary to Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge in the critically and commercially profitable Oscar nominated war-time drama film Downfall.
